Carrie and Denis are the best pet sitters we have ever had. We moved down from LA in 2012 and were lucky to find Coastal Paws Pet Sitting. She has long served our community. When you have pets, leaving on vacation can be very problematic. Since we all love our animals and most of them are family members, it is very scary to leave them with anyone. Our experience with Carrie exceeded our expectations and then some. She takes care of the cats/dogs herself and does not designate the job to others . Our cat, Stitch, is afraid of his own shadow and very unresponsive to strangers. Much to our surprise, he fell in love with Carrie at first sight! I now call Carrie the cat whisperer! Our other cat, Shea, loved her as well. She also handled our trash and our mail. She sent us videos and text messages throughout our trip. She maintained a daily log of the cats activities. Her fees are very reasonable. We came home to happy, healthy cats. Boarding can be so stressful on animals that I would suggest you check out Carrie if you have a cat or dog. Carrie's service allowed the cats to be in the comfort of their home while we were gone. I would hands-down recommend talking to Carrie before your next vacation. Sorry this is lengthy but our animals are so important to those of us who are fortunate enough to have them.

If your goal is to have complete peace of mind while you are gone, then don't go anywhere else. Our dog Daisy gets ample exercise, love and care every time we leave her there. She now gets excited as we pull up to her home. Carrie has pets of her own which enables Daisy to have interaction, but still be in a home vs. a camp. Best of all, Carrie loves her guests as if they are her own, taking full ownership of their care, and most importantly their happiness!

We even get photos, texts and videos of Daisy while we are away which is fantastic. Carrie is also very accessible and responsive to us should we feel the need to communicate with her while we are away or even scheduling Daisy's visit.

We checked out other places like Petsmart a long time ago, and for virtually the same price Daisy gets a much higher standard of care and a lovely home to be in instead of locked in a crate all day.

Carrie with Coastal Paws Pet Sitting is wonderful! She has such a calming presence and my dogs picked up on it right away. My little Bichon who is always barky and suspicious climbed up on the couch cushion and put her her head on Carrie's shoulder when they first met. While I was out of town Carrie ensured that my dogs were safe while playing in the backyard (texting me to say that she was keeping a watchful eye on the dogs due to low fences and possible coyote encounters). She also sent me a video of my three dogs all walking together so calmly and clearly respecting Carrie as the alpha while walking on a leash (they tend to pull me in a thousand different directions when I walk them, so I know Carrie's experience training dogs allowed for this to happen).
I highly recommend Carrie! She is so sweet and loving to my 3 dogs and they trust and love her too!

Carrie watched my three cats while I was on vacation for a week. She played with the cats daily and sent me updates via text. She even sent me photos of them having a great time! My house was spotless when I came back, and she even took the trash cans out to the street for me on trash day! As a member of Carrie's FB group and a somewhat new business owner in the pet care industry, I can't begin to tell you how invaluable Carrie's mentoring in Start-Up Pet Sitters Support has meant to me! Guiding me through the rough waters of starting and building a successful business! I have been involved in her group for the past two years. I joined when my business was only just an idea. No books or classes could have provided the same REAL solutions to questions we all have when starting out. Although I have not used Carrie for pet sitting, I can definitely say she is 5 star based on her experience and what she contributes to the entire pet sitting community. I haven't used her because it would be too far to send my dogs...she is in CA and I live in NJ :). My business has flourished in a short two years and I do attribute much of my success to the information I have gotten from her and her group.

Carrie's been our dog walker and pet sitter for our cat when we're out of town for several years now. She is truly amazing.

1. Pet Safety -- Not fun to think about but what if something bad, or unexpected happens while you're away? We trust completely in Carrie's pet sitting skill and decision making. Her years of experience become obvious when watching her interactions with animals she knows, and doesn't know. She's always alert. She reads and adapts quickly and calmly. She has total, thoughtful control. Animals pick up on it and respond accordingly. Ours adore her.

2. Pet Health -- Carrie Seger, owner of Coastal Paws Pet Sitting in Carlsbad, CA is very observant of changes in behavior, or appearance and will let you know if something is not quite right. She will also take care of administering meds if needed.

3. Keeping an eye on the house -- We were out of the country once when a suspected break¬in occurred. We didn't get Carrie's messages immediately. She reached our alternate contact, the police, and a nearby neighbor to help ensure the safety of our house and cat. We used Skype to get in touch and were initially freaked out of course. By the end of the conversation we were so relieved. Everything was in order. Carrie handled everything ideally ¬ with strength and skill. By the way, don't cross her ¬ she's equipped to fully kick butt if necessary!

4. The fun part, a real love for animals -- Carrie is genuine. She recognizes and appreciates quirks. She corrects when there's bad behavior, and shows love and affection when there's good behavior. Timing is everything and she knows how to differentiate.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Carrie and Denis, pet sitters in Carlsbad, CA about a week before my three day trip and let me tell you, they are as good as it gets! As soon as they walked in the door, my 11 year old lab fell in love with both Carrie and Denis{doggie smile included}. I was very hesitant to leave my dog, Annabelle with strangers, especially for a longer period of time being the {VERY}overprotective dog mommy I am but as soon as I sat down and talked with Carrie and Denis I felt immediately at ease to have them as my pet sitter/dog walker. Being dog parents themselves, they are very thorough and went through Annabelles needs and daily schedules with me as well as where I keep her treats, food, etc. They also went out of their way to take care of Annabelle as the city I live in is typically out of their territory which I GREATLY appreciated. Denis was Annabelles caretaker for the weekend and I felt 100% comfortable with him taking care of her, they seemed to have bonded from the moment she met him 🙂 She can be a little sassy on walks sometimes
as she definitely prefers humans to dogs but Denis seemed to have everything under control and with his extensive knowledge in all things canine i trusted him completely. Denis also treated a hot spot on Annabelles tail that she had been gnawing on which I am so thankful for! I received daily email updates from Carrie WITH pictures of my sweet girl and I was also able to text Denis to check in on Annabelle. I came home on Sunday night to a journal of all things Annabelle including how her walks went, how she behaved and even what they watched during
their "hang out' time. Along with the journal was a framed, yes framed, picture of Annabelle on one of her walks! I am so grateful to have found such amazing, loving and knowledgeable people to take care of Annabelle when I leave town. We found Carrie, professional pet sitter, and owner of Coastal Paws Pet Sitting in Carlsbad, CA on line. The minute we began corresponding via email I knew she was a professional. Her responses were prompt and addressed all my concerns/questions. When we finally had the opportunity to meet I was not disappointed. Once again, she was knowledgeable, thorough, responsive to my needs and able to put my mind at ease. After her first walk as our new dog walker with my puppy she provided me a detailed note and a photo! Imagine my surprise at seeing a photo of my puppy being so well cared for. Recently my puppy did an overnight at Carrie's. I was quite concerned but, once again, Carrie knew how to put my mind at ease. She sent me an email and video of Jai Jai having fun with the other puppies. When we picked him up she had washed his blanket and dishes and she had another photo to give me. My puppy cried that night at her house so she brought him into her bedroom so he could sleep near people. I can't begin to say how much we appreciate the professionalism of her service and the fact she takes such good care of our puppy. All of these things make us SO grateful to have found her. Plus, we get a happy and tired puppy back after his stay at her house. I couldn't ask for anything more. I would highly recommend this service (again and again).
